FAQ How can the mdex router be reset (incl. login password)?

The following methods are available to reset the mdex router:

1. Reset via WebUI
2. Reset via RESET button
3. Reset via firmware image

1. Reset via WebUI

Ideally, log in with the current login password of the mdex router according to FAQ What are the login data (username / password) of the router? and reset the router to factory default and/or change the login password by WebUI:

	Reset to factory default	Change login password
MX530/MX880:	Under System -> Admin Settings with a click on the button Restore to default the MX530/MX880 can be reset to factory default. This method resets all configuration settings and the login password!	Under System -> Admin settings at Administrator Password you can set your own login password (if desired).
MX560:	Under System -> Administration in the tab General with a click on the button Restore the MX560 can be reset to factory default This method resets all configuration settings and the login password!	Under System -> Administration in the General tab, you can set your own login password under Administrator Password (if desired).

2. Reset via RESET button

If you have already changed the original login password and can no longer find it, the router can be reset to factory default by pressing the reset button. This method resets all configuration settings and the login password!:

1. press the RESET button of the router with a pointed object and keep it pressed for at least 5 seconds (until all LED's of the field strength are permanently lit up).
2. Now release the RESET button --> The reset to factory default ist started.
3. After a few minutes, login to WebUI is possible according to FAQ What are the login data (username / password) of the router?.

If the login password has not been reset with this method, please execute the method 3. Reset via Firmware Image.

3. Reset via firmware image

If the login password wasn´t reset with method 2. Reset via RESET button, the firmware image can be completely reinstalled via the bootloader menu. Login is then possible again according to FAQ What are the login data (username / password) of the router?. This method resets all configuration settings and the login password!
